Yesterday was Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin’s 60th birthday, and despite the general feelings of animosity towards him in the Western press, in Russia the situation is much more complicated. While there are a vocal proportion who are actively against Putin, there are a large number who genuinely support him. Although there are those that claim that the only reason he is president is because of the election scandal, that is far from clear. A large number of people have taken to the internet to wish Putin.
