Exactly two months ago, citizens of Omsk experienced this type of white powder. Specialists at the time explained that it was aluminosilicate, and completely safe for the population.

Today, the situation has repeated itself. As the regional Emergencies Ministry press service reported, on the 16th October at 14.20, the crisis management centre of the headquarters of the Russian Emergency Ministry for Omsk oblast received information from the Russian Federal Service for the Supervision of Natural Resources about the discovery by residents of residential blocks on Barhatovoy street, Zaozernaya street, Strelnikova street, and Pushkin Tract of an odourless white powder (deposit), particles of which seem similar to washing powder in form and size.

“According to updated information from the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources (Rosprirodnadzor) in the Omsk region, according to preliminary data, the substance on the face of it would appear to be like fine-grained aluminosilicate, which contains no toxic elements that are dangerous to health, or environmentally harmful in its chemical composition” said the press service of the Emergencies Ministry of Russia for Omsk oblast.

As the Omsk life-savers point out, aluminosilicates are a group of natural and synthetic silicates that are common in nature, and make up to 50% of the mass of the earth’s core. It is a non-toxic substance. It is used in many industries.

The results of the investigation will be reported later, after the official analysis by Rosprirodnadzor has been received.

At this rate, we will soon have arsenic poured on us and told that it’s useful! Let the refinery pay for the car washes, this crap is not blown here by the wind, and it’s not going anywhere on its own. Why I washed my car yesterday and today it turns out that was a waste of money. Or let those freaks with the letter M [Note: Emergencies Ministry] at least give us an early warning )))

Сергей Паюк:

Why can’t it be sausages or buns that fall?

Вадэс:

I work at the factory and park my car near the clinic, on the corner, on the 7th, I washed my car, rubbed wax on it, on Monday night, I come out of work – it’s turned from black to grey. )

Туся:

It would seem that this “manna from the sky” is going to fall regularly on our heads. Now they’re saying that it’s not dangerous, soon they’ll be writing that it’s good for us and that we should all be happy!

Серега:

I wonder how much they churn out in winter under the cover of snowfall???

А:

Read carefully! Aluminosilicate is BAD for your health, coming from the air into your lungs! These particles can cause silicosis, and then (accordingly) cancer!

Сергей Успленьев:

Just saw this white crap on the windowsill, I wanted to clean it off with a cloth, but just spread it everywhere. I live in Chkalovskiy village.

KLariss: (responding to above)

You take that white crap that fell on Neftyanikov and try to clean off your windowsill with that)))

Саша:

Let them clean all the cars then

RE$PECT:

Well of course it’s harmless! Now we’re gonna have this chucked on us every month in Omsk. This isn’t an answer guys, we need to solve this problem!!!
