From Lenta.ru:
Lyapis Trubetskoy cancelled two concerts due to a binge
The Belorussian collective “Lyapis Trubetskoy” went on a binge and as a result, cancelled two concerts, one in Tula and one in Kaluga. The musicians have written about this on their official site. Members of the group have asked for forgiveness from their fans, and promised to come to both towns in the future.
“We, the members of the group ‘Lyapis Trubetskoy’ met at the beginning of the ‘Rabcore Live’ tour and went on a massive binge. In Velikiy Novgorod (Note from Lenta.ru: the show was on the 7th October), the binge came to a head – all of the musicians came onto the stage drunk”, say the group in a statement. The musicians added that “on the Rabcore tour, it’s forbidden to drink alcohol, or engage in any other nonsense”, and therefore the concerts in Tula and Kaluga were postponed.
Members of the group “Lyapis Trubetskoy” assured fans that their tickets for the shows that were planned but cancelled due to the binge will still be valid. In Kagula, Lyapis will perform on the 31st October (Club Sumerka) and on the 1st November in Tula (‘Tulamashzavoda’ Palace of Culture).
The group’s next concert as part of the “Rabcore Live” tour wil be in Moscow. On the 12th October, Lyapis Trubetskoy will perform in the Arena Moscow club. On the group’s site, the dates of the tour are scheduled until the 2nd December 2012, on which day the team will be playing in Prague.
Lyapis Trubetskoy’s “Rabcore” album came out on the 1st May 2012. The release was on Yandex.Music. The disc is the 12th in the Minsk group’s discography. There are 12 songs on the tracklist.

They’ve probably got concerts scheduled as far away as 20102.
[Note: Lyapis Trubetskoy was founded in 1990, the commenter is referring to the length of time they have already been active]

Hey, these opposition musicians are happy in Belarus! But seriously, it’s typical.

Well, Lyapis haven’t been “opposition” are anything like that for quite some time now. But in Belarus, you can’t be. Either you’re for the First President and you show it actively, or you’re an enemy of the state.
Северянин, но не Игорь:
Justifiable reason, I reckon!

Maybe it’s a PR binge

As a specialist in advertising and PR, I say that it’s a publicity stunt for the tour. Now they’ll sell more tickets.

Lots of commenters don’t get it. old Lyapis and new Lyapis are two different groups. Before, he used to get high and drink, but now he’s lost 40kg, worked out, cleared his head, and started to perform all sorts of alternative rock, and the others are with him. His new songs impressed me more than the old ones, and his new album is absolutely super! Still too much social protest, but nevertheless. […]
