From Ridus.ru:
On Tver Street in Moscow, “smart” bus stops have appeared
Photo report
On Tver Street, the first five electronic bus stops have been built with backlighting, weatherproofing, and touchscreens displaying information about trolleybus waiting times. While the stops are operating in test mode, the time of arrival shown is incorrect. The service, linked to GLONASS through sensors on vehicles and main roads, is still “not completely ready” according to the Central Administration of Moscow’s website.
The installation of the “smart” bus stops has cost the town 18 million roubles. 700 million roubles were spent on equipping public transport with the GLONASS system, which is expected to be able to allow people waiting to find out the exact time of arrival of their bus or trolleybus.
The Ridus correspondent noted that the interface of the panels at the bus stops is rather complex and unintuitive. Not all pedestrians were able to work out how to use them straight away and many did not know that the panels were touchscreen.
On Tver Street, public transport is frequent and regular, and there is no particular need for the information panels. The central street was chosen to test the new panels and if the experiment is successful, the system will be introduced in more remote areas of the city, where it would be much more useful.

I wonder how many will last.
Товарищ О. Бендер:
I’m interested as well … I’ll repeat it again … there’s an information panel on Pushkin Square that isn’t working any more … but it worked for a long time.
DIK:
Huh, people will “press” on these panels with crowbars at night.

“On Tver Street, public transport is frequent and regular”
Yeah, particularly the number 1 and the number 12, which you sometimes have to wait 40 minutes for.

What, there’s no snow in Moscow?

It’s covered in chemicals to melt the snow. There’s just dirty, wet slush constantly on the floor. It completely destroys your shoes … Long live Mr. Sobyanin. That he lives as happily as our shoes.

In the photos, it feels like summer, apart from the Christmas trees and people going around in fur coats.

I wonder if it’s worth it?

I’ve been dreaming about this sort of thing all my life.

Maybe one day the word “clever” will be written without the quotation marks and everything will get better for Russia?!

They’ll crash or be covered in graffiti in a week, maximum.
