From Lenta.ru:
Russia is to revise the agreement on child adoption with France
The ITAR-TASS news agency reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin has promised to consider revising the agreement between Russia and France regarding child adoption.
The potential revision of the existing agreement is due to recent changes in France when, in April 2013, same-sex marriage was legalised. ‘We’re going to think about this question: it’s a current issue’, – Putin said.
The question of the adoption of Russian children in France was submitted to the presidium of the legislative council by Marina Orgeeva, head of the legislative assembly of the Kaliningrad Oblast, who was visiting Putin. The President supported the idea of reviewing bilateral agreements. ‘We respect our partners, but we also ask that they respect the cultural traditions and ethical, legal and moral norms of Russia. I believe we have the right to make changes.’
The federation council speaker Valentina Matviyenko, who was also present at the meeting, told Putin that the appropriate changes are already being prepared.
Same-sex marriage and the right for homosexual couples to adopt children was legalised by the French Parliament on April 23, 2013. In order for the law to come into force, it needs to be signed by Francois Hollande [Note: French president], who has always advocated the legalisation of same-sex marriages. The new law has divided French society rather strongly – thousands of people have attended rallies both in support of and against the bill.
During his visit to the Netherlands in early April, Putin commented on the problem of sexual minorities in Russia, ‘No, can you imagine same-sex marriages in Chechnya?! We need to remember what country we live in!’
In December 2012 Russia passed the so-called ‘anti-Magnitsky Law‘ which prohibits the adoption of Russian children by citizens of the US and other countries which violate the rights of Russian people.

Ирина Щербинина:
A child cannot grow up normally in a same-sex household. And no one will ever be able to convince me otherwise! If you legalise same-sex unions, the children won’t be Russian. This is all my frank opinion.
Лёнька Цоль: (responding to above)
Children can only grow up normally in an orphanage, right […]?
Ирина Щербинина: (responding to above)
Well, better in an orphanage than with two perverts
Jon Rixor: (responding to above)
Are you from a family of perverts?
Ivan Nesterov: (responding to above)
You think that when two people love each other they’re perverts? With that opinion you’re better off staying in Rashka and singing along with the Alpha Crane [Note: Putin].
Арина Шапокляк: (responding to above)
Normal children grow up in a normal family, first of all.
Alex Familnov:
Why only France?
Миша Овчинников:
To hell with the gays, at least they’re not Arabs.
Ахмед Рамозанов:
Better in a same-sex household than an orphanage. In normal countries, same-sex couples have already managed to bring up children. Nothing bad happened to them! However, with regards to this law, Russia will long remain a backwards Eastern country.
ceeam:
Even in a country where 0% of brides are virgins, a 16-year-old girl is an excuse for a TV show, and there are an average of 5-7 abortions per woman, homosexuality is the MAIN problem with public morality. Fuck’s sake.
Алексей Постовалов:
Some commenters like orphanages, some like gays. I suggest a compromise: a gay-phanage.
Stewie Griffin:
Nice one France, we, on the other hand, are living in the middle ages.
Max Artemev:
Sometimes I’m just amazed at the level of bigotry in this country.
Олег Сахаров:
Maybe it’s ‘bigotry’ or maybe it’s cultural values of the country that save it from the abyss into which Europe has already fallen. (Rome, Greece and so on.) […]
Лёнька Цоль: (responding to above)
I don’t understand, are you somehow associating the abyss into which Europe fell and same-sex marriage?
Олег Сахаров:
There is a definite correlation between the spread of homosexuality in ancient empires and their demise.
What do you think? Has France legalising gay marriage had an effect where you are?
