Dzhigurda organised a Harlem Shake flashmob on the Arbat and hugged a policeman
Crowds of teenagers in costumes and masks came to the Arbat. Participants in the flashmob were surprised by the scale of the event.
“Too many people came. We were just walking along the Old Arbat choosing a place to video it for about an hour. But, despite this, everyone looked like they were having fun”, said Dmitriy Luchko, a flashmob participant dressed in a leopard costume to a RIA Novosti correspondent.
The principle of the Harlem Shake is simple. To begin with, one man in a mask or a costume dances, while the rest go about their business. Then, the scene changes dramatically, and everybody in the video starts to make ridiculous and insane moves to fast music. This dance was invented by a Japanese blogger who filmed it on the 30th of January and uploaded it to the internet. Australian students followed his lead, and already after a few days, the whole world was dancing the Harlem Shake. Almost every new video gets a huge number of views. In total, more than 175 million people have watched videos with this dance in.
This is not the first time Nikita Dzhigurda has danced in the centre of Moscow. In December 2012, the actor performed the popular Gangnam Style dance in a kilt on Red Square.
