Three Uzbeks blew themselves up in the Leningrad Oblast trying to saw up a shell
In the Leningrad Oblast, three men from Central Asia blew themselves up with a shell as they were trying to saw through it with an angle grinder.
According to investigations, the men wanted to take the fuses to a scrap metal place, and they tried to cut one off. “As a result, there was an explosion. These men, two in a critical condition, one in a moderately severe condition were taken to hospital”, a statement says on the Interior Ministry Headquarters for the region’s website.
Itar-Tass were told at the press office of the Interior Ministry that the victims were citizens of Uzbekistan.
Agents seized 330 detonator heads from the scene of the incident, as well as 67 tails, and 255 various fuse elements from WWII shells.
