From Lenta.ru:

Resident of Yakutia gives ex-wife 7 years worth of alimony for Valentine’s day

The Yakutia resident paid his ex-wife seven years worth of unpaid alimony for Valentine’s day. This was reported on the republic’s bailiffs’ website on the 14th February.

The resident of the Tattinskiy region went to the bailiffs’ office along with his former wife and paid his alimony for his two daughters to the amount of 304,690 roubles [£5,105, 6,200€]. After this he wished his ex a happy Valentine’s day.

The debtor explained that he had recently sold some property and received a bonus at work, so he decided to pay off his debt. He said “Unfortunately, my relationship with my daughters is not very good, but I hope that they will forgive me one day, and we can see each other often. But in the meantime, I’ve decided to celebrate Valentine’s day with a unique present”.

The man promised that from now on he will pay his alimony on time, and not default on his debts. He said that he was in a difficult life situation before now, and couldn’t physically pay his alimony.

So is any present you’re forced to give on any particular holiday a present?

duba:

Yeah, it’s all simple. After his divorce, the Yakutian decided to take his revenge for5 the rest of time by paying his alimony through the Russian Post service)))

A robber stops two respectable citizens:
“Your money or your life!”
One of the citizens says to the other:
“Moshe, remember I owed you 100 roubles?”
“Yeah Abram!”
“Here you go!”

Generooous gift. Just not to his former wife, but his own, biological children. What a cretin. When will our country give really serious prison sentences for not paying alimony?

Lt Turkish:

What kind of sentences. There are enough of them already. The sentences are normally short.

XoID:

I’m not paying it.
I live in a village. My oldest son lives with his mum in Moscow. 25% of my income isn’t enough to buy him chewing gum.
It’s easier for him to come and stay with me for 3 months per year (25%). But his mum doesn’t want that arrangement. Because of the impact. )) We decided there’s no point. Mutually. But at any moment, she could claim for alimony from the moment of the divorce. That’s the law (if they haven’t changed it.

Yep, normal!
