The FSB are Russia’s main security agency, and are descended from the KGB. FSB stands for Federalnaya Sluzhba Bezopasnosti, which translates as Federal Security Service, but the acronym FSB is used in English. It deals with counterintelligence, domestic security, terrorism and surveillance. Legally speaking, the FSB is a military service.
