United Russia is the current ruling party and the largest in Russia, and has been since 2001, which was the year of its inception. It is generally centre-right, and holds the support of approximately 50% of the Russian population (according to 2011 election results), a fall from 65% in 2007. Dmitry Medvedev, the current prime minister and former president is the current leader of United Russia.
