Vladimir Lenin was a revolutionary, and Russia’s first communist leader. His ideas were basically Marxist, but he developed them as time went on and his ideology is now known as Leninism. Lenin is seen as something of a saint by many Russians, who believe that he generally was working to make Russia (and the world) a better place.
